What makes us happy?

Look at any Cosmopolitan you want, you will recognize the following pattern. In the first part of the print, you will find slim, good looking, rich and successful models, actresses, etc…They want to build desire within you to be like them.

In the second part of the magazine you will find all sorts of products which help you to be like them (that is what they want you to think). Total manipulation.

When you see this picture your brain tries to find out how to be like them and then it is provided with the solution (the products). As your brain has found a solution, it feels satisfied. That’s why we read such kind of magazine. And that’s how the medias work. You find the same principle, a little bit adapted, in Hollywood movies, any kind of soaps, novels, etc…

This leads to the conclusion that we are satisfied by solutions, but what makes us happy?

Social programming tells us that we have to be well educated and get a safe and secure job. So many of us assume that money, coming form your job, makes you happy. But that’s not true. I’m sure you know this. You worked hard a couple of years and got eventually that raise, which aloud you to move in a bigger house. First all was happy-go-lucky. But after some time, the satisfaction was gone and you wanted something other. An even bigger house, a faster car, a shining home cinema set, etc… And you were sure that this would improve your life. But it doesn’t. So money isn’t THE thing.

It is very easy to be happy, once you’ve understood the main principle. We feel happy when we achieve our goals. Ever had that urge to tidy up the house or to clean the garage for about a month before you actually did it. How did you feel after you completed the task. Wasn’t it a relief? Please proof me wrong put I allege that everyone has a sense of delight, when someone accomplishes a goal he was really committed to.

So please set your goals now and get going the unique, wonderful and limitless experience called life.

So long,

Patric
